Mall of America Clerk Busts Identity Theft Ring

Police say an alert clerk at a jewelry store inside Mall of America helped uncover an identity theft ring that involved multiple victims.

The incident happened Wednesday, Jan. 20, at a Mall of America jewelry store. A clerk said a man and woman came into the store and asked to see a $5,000 Rolex for a friend in Hong Kong. They said they wanted to buy it, so the woman provided a Visa card and Connecticut ID, according to the complaint.
